About Us
Secrett Jewel Salon was founded by Victor Secrett in 1955 at The Park Plaza Hotel in Toronto. He had fallen in love with gemstones while living in Rio de Janeiro. While a pilot for Varig Airlines, he used his spare time to guide tours at H. Stern. On his return to Canada, he started importing from Brazil and eventually came to retail. His colorful designs and personal style struck a chord with Toronto Society.
Victor Secrett's associate, Jack Bunting, took over the management of the Salon in 1968. Jack was an exceptional businessman who earned membership in DeBeer's Carat Club. The Salon moved to 162 Cumberland Street in Toronto's fashionable Yorkville shopping district. Proprietor Terry Wilson has held progressively senior positions at the Salon since joining as a graduate GBC in 1973.
